Werner Bührer was Research Fellow at the Institute for Contemporary History in Munich between 1985 and 1992; since 1993 he is Research Fellow, and since 1997 also Reader at the Munich University of Technology, Germany. He received his PhD and his Habilitation from the University of Hamburg. His research interests cover European Integration, Businessmen and Business Associations, and the History of the Federal Republic of Germany. His publications include: Ruhrstahl und Europa (1986), Vom Marshallplan zur EWG (1990, co-editor), Die Adenauer-Ära. Eine Dokumentation (1993), Westdeutschland in der OEEC (1997), Henry Axel Bueck: Mein Lebenslauf (1997, editor), Unternehmerverbände und Staat in Deutschland (2000, co-editor). Werner Bührer is currently doing research especially on the history of the Federation of German Industry, 1949-1999.
