Biographical Sketch

Hans-Liudger Dienel is heading the Center for Technology and Society of the Berlin University of Technology (www.ztg.tu-berlin.de). Besides, he is director of a PNP think tank in Berlin, the nexus Institute for Cooperation Management and Interdisciplinary Research (www.nexusinstitut.de). Currently, he is president of the International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility (www.t2m.org) and book review editor of the Journal of Transport History (JTH), Manchester University Press. In the early 1990s, Hans Dienel was conducting research projects at the Deutsches Museum in Munich and moved to Berlin and the Center for Technology and Society in December 1995. Dienel’s research is focussing on the one hand on the history of mobity in a transnational context and on the other hand on participation, cooperation, identity building and organizational learning.
