Jørgen is working as senior researcher for Danish technical and culture-historical museums, private companies, Government institutions and international organizations. Lately he has conducted a research project for the Danish Road- and Bridge Museum “Roads for cars” where the technical and economical development of motor vehicles is related to the development of road building. He has a long production within the analysis of the industrialized society: 60+ books and reports besides 200+ articles, papers, book reviews, exhibitions and historical movies. Besides his work he has been editor of national and international learned journals. Today he is editor of Working Life Info and Nyt om arbejdsliv and book review editor at Tidsskrift for arbejdsliv. The areas of interests are broad within the culture-historical description of the society. Many of his books are monographs of business history covered in a broad cultural history based on a foundation of economic research and statistics. His work is based on fieldworks for some months at the existing workplace, if possible. Hereby the ‘feeling’ of the sector is captured and all relevant archives and artifacts are collected for the further research process back in time. Here the former employees are the delivers of experienced of the history a lifespan back in time. From this slip the archives takes over.
