Biographical Sketch

Karl-Erik Michelsen is Senior Researcher in the Academy of Finland. He is also senior staff member in the History Department of the University of Helsinki. He is a member of Finnish Society for Historians of Technology and Senior Research Fellow in the Finnish Historical Society. He was an International Scholar in the Society for Historians of Technology. His publications include: State, Technology and Research (in Finnish), Unknown Forest (in English), The Fifth Estate; Engineers in the Finnish Society (in Finnish), Work, Production and Efficiency (in Finnish) and most recently Finnish Nuclear Power Program (in Finnish). He has written several methodological articles on history of technology and contributed to general works in Finnish history. His list of publications includes approximately 60 numbers.
