PhD position in History of Technology – Institute of History, Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland)

A PhD position in history is available at the Institute of History, Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland). The position is for 4 years, renewable for an extra year.

The successful candidate will be a teaching and research assistant to Prof. Gianenrico Bernasconi. The PhD student is expected to complete a dissertation in the field of history of technology (histoire des techniques) within the duration of the contract. As part of the doctoral training, the candidate will also be encouraged to cooperate with the Musée International d’Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

The candidate must have a Master's degree in history (or a related field), and an interest in the history of science and technology. Knowledge of French is mandatory (for teaching purposes), other languages are a plus.
