Short biography

Animesh Chatterjee is a historian of science and technology whose research focuses on the multifaceted meanings and interpretations of public and domestic electric supply, and technologies — electric lighting, oil and gas lamps, hand-held and electric fans, and electric meters — in colonial Calcutta.

He is also interested in cultural, literary, material and scientific histories of the weather and weathering practices in colonial Calcutta.
