Short biography

Daniel Svensson holds a PhD in history. He is From 1 September, he will be Associate Senior Lecturer in Sport Management at the Department of Sport Sciences, Malmö University. Svensson’s research has a focus on the role of science and technology in sport and outdoor life, often relating to environmental issues. His doctoral thesis investigated the scientization of training methods in endurance sports and meetings between scientific and experiential knowledge. In his current research projects, Svensson studies the history and management of elite sport education in Sweden, and environmental issues relating to the sport and outdoor movement in Sweden.
