Short biography

Leonard Laborie is a Research Fellow at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), UMR Sirice (Paris, France). He holds a PhD in contemporary history from Sorbonne University. His research focusses on the co-construction of communication networks and Europe since the 1840s (ANR-DFG project Europtt), and on European science diplomacy (H2020 project Inventing a shared science diplomacy for Europe). Leonard is a member of the LabEx EHNE “Writing a new history of Europe”, which is editing the Digital Encyclopedia of European History. He is founding managing editor of the open access Journal of Energy History, and co-editor of the Innovation and Diplomacy in Modern Europe series (De Gruyter Oldenbourg). He currently chairs ToE’s management committtee.
