Short biography

Magdalena Kamińska graduated from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with a BA in European History of Ideas and Culture and a minor in History of Art, then moved to Oldenburg. There she continued to study European History in a Masters Programme at Carl-von-Ossietzky University Oldenburg, which she successfully concluded in 2013. During her studies and after, she worked as a research assistant for Prof. Hans Henning Hahn (University Oldenburg).
Magdalena Kamińska deepened her knowledge on Polish and european history in general and also her language skills during two semesters abroad in Wrocław/Breslau (Poland) in 2009 and in Istanbul (Turkey) in 2011.
In 2014, she moved to Frankfurt (Oder) to work as a research assistant for Prof. Beata Halicka (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań/European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder) and for the Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION.
In 2015, she registered as a phD student at the European University Viadrina with Prof. Dagmara Jajeśniak-Quast as her doctoral advisor. She applied successfully for research grants from the Viadrina and the German Historical Institute in Warsaw. Since January 2017 she is a fellowship holder of the Wüstenrot Stiftung, Ludwigsburg.
